Allan C.
Fisher, Associate Professor of Art, was Chairman of the Department of Art at
Dakota

University

Madison

South Dakota
(1990-2000). Allan is 1st
generation Irish - American. His
parents were both born in
County
Donegal
,
Ireland
.
He was born in
Philadelphia
,
Pennsylvania
July 4,
1946
and studied at
Tyler
School
of Art 1964-66. Allan studied with world renowned sculptors George Segal and
David Smith (1965). His studies were interrupted by the Vietnam conflict.
He completed his B.V.A. degree in Drawing and Painting with a minor in
Sculpture at
Georgia
State
University
in 1973 and his M.F.A. degree in Sculpture at
Radford
University
,
Virginia
,
in 1990.
Fisher has
exhibited in local, state, regional, national, and international juried
exhibitions. His work has appeared
in numerous galleries, including the

of
Science
and Energy and the
Museum
of
Fine Arts
in
Oak Ridge

Tennessee
